When I start one of these and put it away for a while things get odd. I wrote:

“Has anyone made a minor key version of Venus? I’d like to hear that REM major”

Girl WHAT

So if I had to guess, past me is asking if anyone has put a specific song through a key change filter to change it to a minor key. What song? No clue. Would assume Venus in Furs but it’s already so very minor. Maybe I actually meant I wanted to hear it in major?

The second part is talking about how someone already did that with REM’s Losing my Religion, to delightful major chord effect.

Omg I just looked it up and there’s some debate about the Venus in Furs key. How?? So discordant!!!

I’m thinking this train of thought may have been inspired by a commercial VH1 keeps making me watch in order to watch the latest Drag Race that’s for yet another exercise-and-fight-in-nature contest that is scored with a soulful, dramatic cover of All Star. Of All Star. It took me the first 20 times of seeing it to even realize what was going on.
